Volunteering

Volunteering with Ealing Mediation Service

We aim to maintain a pool of up to 30 mediators from diverse backgrounds all of whom must have completed an accredited mediation course. Mediators, working in teams of two or three, are expected to undertake pre-meetings and facilitate joint mediations with clients. Mediators need good communication and inter-personal skills.

We are currently seeking applicants who have trained in mediation and who are interested in using their skills and expanding their experience in community mediation.

If you are interested, please get in touch with us by e-mail to administrator@ealingmediation.org.uk for further details.

TRUSTEES OF THE BOARD

Current Membership:

Chair - Simeon Gann
Vice-Chair and Treasurer - Jo Bennett
Other Board Members - Samantha Stotland, Munawar Sheik, David Lines, Caroline Haywood and Marion Hardy.

Ealing Council also send a regular rep to observe our Board meetings and the current rep is Paul Murphy.

Our Board is made up of volunteers who have an interest in mediation and a mix of the necessary skills to govern a small Charitable Incorporated Organisation. The Board takes overall responsibility for the organisation's staffing, the governance of the service including strategy, business planning, risk register, health & safety, policy review, work programme and finances.

We are looking to recruit two new trustees to our board. We are keen to hear from candidates who want to make a contribution to the community by helping run a local charity. Whilst primarily the role of trustee is to oversee the governance of the charity, we need our trustees to be actively engaged in the management of the service by taking a lead for a specific aspect such as volunteer engagement or monitoring day to day operations or management of specific projects and activities or funding and income development. These roles will require regular, though flexible time commitment to the work.

If you are interested in becoming a trustee of EMS, please contact us by e-mail to administrator@ealingmediation.org.uk for further details.
