PRIVACY NOTICE
 
EMS stores the personal contact details of its mediation clients and other third parties in order to contact them during the course of their mediation enquiry or case. We collect and use this information because it is necessary for the legitimate interests of EMS in order to carry out the mediation process, help people resolve conflict, collate statistical data and provide a community mediation service which benefits the wider community. Such Information may be provided to EMS by you, a referrer or as part of necessary risk assessment.
 
EMS also seeks to collect and process some sensitive data for the purposes of effective case management, service delivery and to provide statistical data to meet the monitoring requirements of our funders. We also need this information for research purposes, to support funding applications, to assess how we are complying with equalities legislation and to map our reach into the community. Such data is produced in an anonymous format so that no person can be identified. Such data may be provided by a referral agency or directly to us, with consent, by the individual.
 
Anything that you share with our Service will be in confidence and is not shared with any third party, unless we have permission, a duty of care or a legal obligation to share it. Clients’ personal data is held securely until 3 years after an enquiry or case is closed and is then deleted or anonymised.
