Enquires And Cases

In 2010/11 we received 160 new enquires of which 100 became cases. We assisted 332 new clients.

The number of enquiries and clients exceeded each of the previous five years and the number of cases exceeded four of the previous five years.

Enquiries came from almost every ward within Ealing borough - with the most clients coming from Northolt Mandeville ward and the least from Southall Broadway ward.

Of the 100 cases received, 79% were from referral agencies and 21% were self referrals.

Clients

Of the 332 clients we assisted in 2010/11, 140 (42.2%) were male and 192 (57.8%) were female.
Of those 332 clients, 321 were known to live in Ealing borough or be Ealing's responsibility. The remainder were referrals from other West London boroughs, paid for by the referring agency.

Of the 247 clients, where ethnicity was disclosed to us, 85.8% were from BME or non- White UK communities.

Of the 157 clients where their age group was disclosed to us, 12.7% were known to be age 65 and over.

Of the 140 clients where their mobility/health status was disclosed to us, 28.6% had a declared disability or debilitating condition.

Of the 236 clients where their tenure was disclosed to us, 56.8% were from the public sector.

Types Of Dispute

In 2010/11 48.1% of all enquires related to noise nuisance, 11.25% to ASB/harassment/abusive behaviour, 10.6% to boundary/property problems, 3.75% to gardens/ untidiness/rubbish, 3.1% to other environmental issues, 2.5% landlord/tenant matters, 1.25% cars/parking/garages, pets 1.25%, 7.6% related to various other disclosed issues and 8.1% were undisclosed.
