Extract From Our Annual Report 2007/8

Enquires And Cases

In 2007/8 we received 150 new enquires of which 101 (67.3%) became cases. An increase of 2.7% in enquires and 17.4% in cases on 2006/7. Since 2000/1 we have seen enquires increase by 56.25% and cases by 57.8%.

In total, 86.6% of our enquires related to the London Borough of Ealing and 13.4% related to other West London boroughs.

Of the 101 cases received, 73.26% were from referral agencies and 26.73% were self referrals.

Clients

Of the 313 clients we assisted in 2007/8, 134 (42.8%) were male and 179 (57.2%) female.
Of those 313 clients, 263 (84%) were known to live in Ealing borough or be Ealing's responsibility.

Of the 210 clients where ethnicity was disclosed to us, 64.8% were from BME or non- White UK communities and 35.2% were known to be White UK.

Of the 186 clients where their age group was disclosed to us, 17.7% were known to be age 65 and over and 0.5% under the age of 16.

Of the 142 clients where their mobility/health status was disclosed to us, 11.3% had a declared disability or debilitating condition.

Of the 255 clients where their tenure was disclosed to us, 67.8% were from the public sector.

Types Of Dispute

In 2007/8 31% of all enquires related to noise nuisance, 12% to boundary/property problems, 10% to harasment/abusive behaviour, 9.7% to general anti-social behaviour,6% to gardens/untidiness/rubbish, 4% to cars/parking/garages, 2.7% to children's behaviour, 7.3% related to various other issues 7.3% and 17.3% were undisclosed.
